The Morton Arboretum's Illumination

Meadow Lake Magic

"Illumination: Tree Lights at Morton Arboretum" is a magical winter experience that celebrates nature with light, music, and special sound effects. Since its beginning in 2013, it has evolved and expanded  each year. Since this was my first time, everything was exciting and magical. I shared the one-mile walk with about thirty other photographers from MAPS (Morton Arboretum Photographic Society) and a few thousand others who enjoyed this very interactive experience. 

I captured this image just past the entrance to Meadow Lake Magic, a combination of ever-changing colored lights illuminating the trees + reflections on Meadow Lake + running dots of lights across the lake.
