The Haiku above describes how the subject matter, the process, and the printed media work together to create a body of work that transitions from traditional photography to the world of Fine Art, specifically in the form of drawings and paintings.
These 2D works of art are created from my nature-based photographs, but they transcend traditional photography as a genre. There is a dynamic, fluid, and tactile nature to them that cannot be captured in a digital image displayed online. The subject matter is taken from nature, and then reduced to its simplest lines, shapes, and forms. The end-result is a marriage of modern technologies and ancient techniques. From digital camera to computer software, to the use of the elegant Kozo papers made in Japan, and finally, in post-print, the traditional process called "momigami" that creates the crinkled effect - all work together to create unique works of art that push the boundaries past prior limitations.
Sizes and Limited Editions:
Large and Medium sizes are offered as Limited Edition prints, which are numbered and signed, and come with a Certificate of Authenticity. "Intimate" sized prints are available as either limited edition or open edition, depending on the image.
Note: Due to the nature of the post-print process, each piece of artwork is unique, and sizes are approximate.
