About Me: My Bio
Information Technology (IT) was my first career, the perfect outlet for my love of writing and problem-solving. It taught me to be precise and exacting; to effectively communicate my ideas to others; and finally, to accept and embrace change. In many ways it prepared me for what would follow.
Photography began as a hobby, and slowly morphed into my encore career in the arts. It provided the building blocks for experimenting with new techniques, and combining them with ancient materials and processes. It is both a journey and a life-long learning process. It is technology, communication, creativity, playfulness, and more. It is my passion; it is what makes me happy to wake up every day and experience what life has to offer.
Why Mixed Media? I use a variety of output media to complement the natural and organic subject matter of my work. These materials include Japanese specialty papers, silks, and encaustic materials. The subject matter, materials, and processes are inspired by the simplicity and elegance of ancient artisans.
