And now for my next trick...

"Resilience"
...I need to figure out how to be in two places at one time. As a result of some strange artistic compulsions, I am currently exhibiting in five different group Art shows, with a sixth one scheduled to start on Wednesday. Four of the shows have Artists Receptions next week (one each Wednesday and Thursday evenings, and two on Friday evening, about 1/2 hour away from each other). Oops. How did that happen?

Seriously, I would love to see and talk to as many people as I can, and each of these exhibits has different images, themes, artists, and amenities (i.e. food, music).

Starting with Wednesday March 9, the fotoMuses exhibit "Patterns, Texture, and Movement" opens at Mayslake Peabody Estate, with the Reception being held from 6 - 8 pm. This historic estate is located at 1771 West 31st Street in Oakbrook. I have five images in this show including three in a traditional photographic mode and two in my painterly/textured style. As a first time offering, three of the fotoMuses have donated matted images that will be awarded as Door Prizes. All attendees will be eligible for the drawing, but you must be present to win! Light refreshments will be available.

On Thursday, the Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce Annual Exhibit features 45 works of art including painting, photography, drawing, and sculpture created by members of the Bloomingdale Artists Association. Held at the Bloomingdale Chamber Offices at 108 W Lake Street in Bloomingdale from 6 - 8 pm, there will be wine, finger food, and live music. Admission is free. I have three images in this show, including one of my foggy scenes and two pieces from the Delicate Beauty collection.

First up on Friday, at the Woodridge Public Library, is the MAPS (Morton Arboretum Photographic Society) exhibit "Nature's Harmony." Thirty-four MAPS members have over fifty pieces on display until the end of March. There are also reasonably-priced matted images in Bins. The reception runs from 6 - 8; and my plan is to be there from the beginning until about 7:30. I have two pieces, the Blue Heron and the Orangutan that also appeared in the Bloomingdale Park District Museum earlier this year. Light refreshments will be served.

Finally, there is the "Winter Mosaic" exhibit at the Thomson Corporate Gallery in Arlington Heights. The reception is Friday night from 7 - 9 pm, and I hope to get there by 8 or so. I have one image, "Resilience" which is shown at the beginning of this post.

Come to one or come to all. I would love to see everyone and answer any questions you have about my artwork. Click on the imbedded links for locations and maps. If you do come, please mention how you found out about the exhibit.

Hope to see you next week!
