In this case, it was the sunset at Warren Dunes State Park, on the western edge of Lake Michigan. On a recent outing with friend Noriko Buckles, our sunny Chicago skies turned to cloudy overcast and cool rainy/windy weather as we entered into Michigan. We pushed on to the Dunes and set up our gear, with cameras pointing to the west. There was a band of clear sky between the clouds and the Lake, and when the sun dropped down into the space, it gave off a wonderfully warm glow that hit the white caps, the sandy beach, and the stretch of grasses in between. Although there were other colorful displays playing off the clouds, the warm glow lasted only a few minutes, and this was my favorite of the group.
